TL;DR, The Quick Take

Salesforce is the deepest CRM on the market, and this page will not pretend otherwise. Its forecasting, territory management, configurable sales processes and the AppExchange ecosystem around them are what enterprise sales organisations buy, and at that job it has no equal, Odoo included. The honest question for a 10-to-200-person company is different: what does that depth cost, and how much of it will you use? Salesforce's 2026 list pricing runs $25 USD per user per month for the limited Starter Suite, $100 for Pro Suite, $175 for Enterprise and $350 for Unlimited, billed annually, with the AI-led Agentforce edition at $550. The features that make Salesforce feel like Salesforce, sandboxes, meaningful API access, advanced forecasting, mostly begin at Enterprise, so a real deployment for 15 sales users starts around $31,500 a year in licences before the almost-obligatory certified admin, the AppExchange subscriptions and the integration bill. And Salesforce remains a CRM: no invoicing, no ledger, no stock, no manufacturing, so the back office lives in other systems connected by middleware. Odoo takes the opposite bet. Its CRM is simpler, genuinely, but it costs $24.90 USD per user per month for the entire suite, and the pipeline it manages is wired directly to quotations, invoicing, inventory, eCommerce and double-entry accounting on one database. Most SMBs use perhaps a fifth of Salesforce's CRM capability while paying for all of it, then pay again to sync it with the systems that run the rest of the company. Our verdict: if you run an enterprise sales machine with territory carve-ups, complex approval chains and a RevOps team, Salesforce earns its price. If you want a very good pipeline connected to everything else you do, Odoo delivers that for a fraction of the five-year cost.

Which Should You Choose?

Choose Odoo if…

SMBs and mid-market companies that want a very good CRM connected natively to quoting, billing, stock and accounting, at a per-user price that does not multiply as the feature list grows.

Choose Salesforce if…

Enterprise sales organisations with dedicated RevOps, complex territory and approval structures, and the budget to staff and extend the platform properly.

Odoo vs Salesforce, In-Depth Analysis

Salesforce and Odoo are both excellent software aimed at different theories of the company. Salesforce's theory is that sales is a discipline deep enough to deserve the best possible dedicated platform, and everything else, finance, inventory, fulfilment, can integrate with it. Odoo's theory is that a company is one flow from lead to cash, and the software should be one flow too. Which theory fits you determines which product fits you, and no feature table settles it by itself. Start with what Salesforce genuinely does better, because it is real. Collaborative forecasting that rolls up through territory hierarchies. CPQ that survives approval chains with legal and finance in the loop. A configuration surface that lets a RevOps team model almost any sales process without code. The AppExchange, which is large and genuinely vetted. If your sales organisation has hundreds of reps, named territory owners and a revenue-operations function, Salesforce is the reference platform and switching it out to save licence money is usually a false economy. The picture inverts at SMB and mid-market scale, and pricing is where it shows first. The 2026 list ladder runs $25, $100, $175, $350 and $550 USD per user per month across Starter, Pro Suite, Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1 Sales, billed annually above Starter. The ladder matters more than the numbers: sandboxes, meaningful API access and advanced forecasting arrive at Enterprise, so the moment you need what makes Salesforce distinctive, you are at $175 per user. Fifteen sales users at Enterprise is about $31,500 a year, $157K over five, and that buys the CRM only. The company still needs invoicing, a ledger, stock and often a storefront, each a separate system, each synced through middleware someone maintains, plus the certified admin that Enterprise-tier Salesforce realistically requires. In our five-year models for 15-user product companies, the all-in Salesforce-centred stack lands at four to six times the Odoo figure. Odoo's $24.90 USD per user per month covers the whole suite with no edition ladder: the API, the automation, the reporting and all eighty-plus apps are in the price. The CRM itself is simpler than Salesforce's, and for most teams under fifty reps that simplicity reads as speed rather than sacrifice: pipeline, activities, scoring and quotes cover the actual daily motion, and the quote is a real document that reserves stock and becomes an invoice without an integration hop. The trade is real at the top end: if you need territory realignment tooling or CPQ with parallel approval matrices, Odoo will need configuration or partner work where Salesforce has a product. There is also an organisational cost that rarely makes the feature tables. Salesforce is a platform you staff: admins, consultants, occasionally developers, and their market rates reflect the certification economy around the product. Odoo at SMB scale is typically run by a capable power user plus a partner on retainer for upgrades and custom work. Neither model is wrong, but they are different budget lines, and the Salesforce one recurs forever. Our recommendation pattern, having sat on both sides: companies whose sales complexity is genuinely enterprise-grade, keep Salesforce and integrate it with whatever runs operations, possibly Odoo. Companies under about fifty sales users who are paying Enterprise rates while using pipeline, activities and reports, consolidate on Odoo and bank the difference. And if you are unsure which you are, the AppExchange invoice and the admin line in your budget are usually more honest than the feature checklist: they tell you what you actually use. Our fit-gap assessment produces exactly that inventory before anyone commits to a migration.

eCommerce and point of saleNative online store and POS posting to the same ledger and stock as every other channel.Commerce Cloud exists as a separate, enterprise-priced product; SMBs typically integrate Shopify or similar instead.
Cross-department reportingPipeline, orders, margins, stock and cash sit in one reporting layer without an integration project.Excellent CRM analytics; anything crossing into finance or operations requires the data warehouse route or Tableau on top, each with its own cost.
Admin overhead and talent costA capable power user typically administers Odoo for an SMB; partner support covers upgrades and custom work.A certified Salesforce admin, in-house or contracted, is a de facto requirement from Enterprise up, and Salesforce talent bills accordingly.
Total cost (5 years, 15 users, CRM + operations scope)Roughly $22K to $30K USD in licences over five years with billing, inventory and accounting included in scope.Enterprise edition alone is about $157K in licences over five years, before the admin, AppExchange subscriptions, integration middleware and the ERP it still needs beside it.

Where Odoo Wins

  • The pipeline is wired to the business: a won opportunity becomes a quote, an order, a delivery and an invoice in the same database.
  • One flat per-user price with no edition ladder gating API access, sandboxes or automation.
  • Native accounting, inventory, eCommerce and manufacturing that Salesforce simply does not have.
  • No mandatory admin layer: an SMB can run Odoo with a power user and a partner.
  • Open source with your data in a queryable PostgreSQL database you can leave with.
  • Five-year cost for CRM plus operations that typically lands under Salesforce's CRM licences alone.

Where Salesforce Wins

  • The deepest enterprise sales feature set on the market: forecasting, territories, CPQ, approval processes.
  • The AppExchange, the largest and best-vetted business app marketplace anywhere.
  • Unmatched configurability for complex, multi-team sales processes without touching code.
  • An enormous talent and consultant ecosystem: certified admins and developers are everywhere.
  • Category-leading AI investment with Einstein and Agentforce for teams ready to pay for it.

Odoo vs Salesforce, FAQ

Is Salesforce an ERP?

No. Salesforce is a CRM platform. It manages leads, opportunities, accounts and service cases, but it has no general ledger, no inventory, no purchasing and no manufacturing. Companies on Salesforce run an ERP or accounting system beside it, connected by middleware. Odoo covers both sides natively, which is the structural difference behind every row of this comparison.

How much does Salesforce cost compared to Odoo?

Salesforce's 2026 list prices are $25 USD per user per month for Starter Suite, $100 for Pro Suite, $175 for Enterprise, $350 for Unlimited and $550 for Agentforce 1 Sales, billed annually above Starter. The capabilities most teams associate with Salesforce start at Enterprise. Odoo Standard is $24.90 USD per user per month for every app. For 15 users over five years that is roughly $157K in Salesforce Enterprise licences against $22K to $30K for the whole Odoo suite, before counting the admin and satellite systems Salesforce deployments carry.

Can Odoo's CRM replace Salesforce?

For pipeline management, activities, quotes and SMB-scale forecasting, yes, and the switch usually feels like a simplification. For enterprise machinery, territory management, collaborative forecasting across hundreds of reps, deep CPQ, honestly no: Salesforce is stronger and staying may be right. The dividing line in our experience is whether your sales organisation has a RevOps function; if it does not, you are unlikely to be using what Salesforce charges for.

What happens to my AppExchange apps if I move to Odoo?

Each one maps three ways: some are native Odoo features (e-signature, quoting, marketing automation are apps in the suite), some have Odoo module equivalents in the app store, and a few, usually vertical sales-intelligence tools, have no direct match and keep running standalone. We inventory the AppExchange stack during the fit-gap assessment because it is often where a surprising share of the Salesforce bill hides.

Do I need a full-time admin to run Odoo?

Usually not at SMB scale. Odoo deployments are typically administered by a power user in operations or finance, with a partner handling upgrades and custom development. Salesforce from Enterprise up realistically requires certified admin capacity, in-house or contracted, and that line item belongs in any honest cost comparison.

How long does a Salesforce to Odoo migration take?

Accounts, contacts, opportunities and pipeline history typically move in 3 to 8 weeks depending on volume and how much process configuration must be rebuilt. Projects that also bring billing, inventory and accounting into Odoo run longer as a phased rollout, and that operational scope is usually the reason to switch at all. We scope the CRM move and the operational build separately.

Can I keep Salesforce and use Odoo for the back office?

Yes. Salesforce as the sales front end with Odoo running invoicing, inventory and accounting is a real pattern, connected through a middleware sync on accounts, products and orders. It preserves a sales team's Salesforce investment at the price of maintaining the connector. It makes sense when the sales organisation genuinely uses Salesforce's depth; when it does not, you are paying two platforms to disagree with each other.

Does Octura help companies switch from Salesforce to Odoo?

Yes. We start with a fit-gap assessment of what your team actually uses in Salesforce, tell you plainly if the answer is to stay, and when a move makes sense we migrate the CRM data, rebuild the processes that matter and deploy the operational apps around them. Our commitment is to the honest answer, not to the migration.
