01Can Dashboards replace Tableau or Power BI for our team?
For BI on Odoo data, yes, the data-pipeline disappears (no ETL, no extract-refresh schedules). For BI across non-Odoo sources (Google Analytics, ad platforms, multiple databases), Tableau and Power BI remain stronger. Hybrid setups, Odoo Dashboards for ops, Tableau for marketing, are common.
02Are Spreadsheets really Excel-compatible?
Formula syntax matches Excel for common functions (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, conditional formatting). Macros and VBA do not port. For most finance and ops use, the gap is small; for VBA-heavy workbooks, plan a small refactor during migration.
03Can we send dashboards to external stakeholders like board members?
Yes, via scheduled PDF emails or read-only share links with password and expiry. Watermarking is supported. For interactive external access, give the stakeholder a portal user (free) with scoped read-only permissions.
04How fresh is the data on a dashboard?
Live, queries hit the Odoo database on every open. For very heavy aggregations across large datasets, configurable caching keeps dashboards responsive (typical cache window 5 to 60 minutes). Real-time KPIs bypass cache by design.
