About the role
You own 3-5 concurrent Odoo implementations from kickoff to hypercare exit. Weekly steerco, scope + budget + timeline discipline, risk register, change orders, and a clear enough technical grasp to challenge engineering estimates when the math doesn't pencil. This is not a PMO role — you're in the solution with the architect and the lead engineer.
What you'll do
- Own 3-5 concurrent client implementations end-to-end — kickoff, weekly steerco, go-live, hypercare exit
- Build + maintain the project plan (Gantt or similar) with honest buffers and an explicit risk register
- Enforce scope control — change-order discipline, written decisions, no silent scope expansion
- Partner with the solution architect on weekly client syncs — technical status in plain English
- Flag risk early and loudly; escalate to leadership before it becomes a crisis
- Own the client relationship from a delivery lens — they trust you with honest status, good news or bad
- Partner with engineering on sprint planning — realistic commitments, visible blockers, no hidden WIP
- Track project financials: burn vs budget weekly, margin visibility, forecast-to-complete
- Lead retrospectives at each phase gate — what worked, what didn't, what we change next project
- Mentor junior project coordinators on running the ceremonies + hard conversations
What we're looking for
- 6+ years as a project manager on software or ERP implementations, 3+ of those on Odoo or a direct analog (NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP B1)
- Strong technical literacy — you can read a sequence diagram, estimate a custom module at a weeks-level, and challenge implausible engineering dates
- PMP, Prince2, Scrum Master, or demonstrated equivalent track record
- Financial discipline — P&L awareness, change-order math, forecast discipline
- Excellent written English for client decisions + internal steerco notes
- Calm under fire; opinionated but not rigid
- Remote-first habits
Nice to have
- Prior engineering background (even 2-3 years before moving to delivery) — huge plus
- French-Canadian fluency for Quebec implementations
- Experience scaling a delivery team from 5 to 20+ people
- Background in a regulated industry (healthcare, financial services, manufacturing)
